A Pre-Built Brand Overview Dashboard and RCA Across Datasets – Explorazor Product Updates

Last month, we discussed dynamic KPIs and saving filters as groups, along with various updates to our super Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) feature. In Explorazor’s latest update, we’ll take a look at the newly introduced features Brand Overview dashboard, ability to conduct RCA across datasets, and 5 other helpful updates.

Let’s explore:

1. Brand Overview Dashboard

Any manager wants to have a quick and reliable overview of his important KPIs. Time is of the essence, as well as accuracy.

Explorazor now provides a pre-built Brand Overview Dashboard on request – for doing just that.

This dashboard provides key insights on important KPIs, patterns, and trends – all in simple language.

The Brand Overview Dashboard can help Brand Managers:

a. Benchmark brand performance

Get quick answers to your questions such as “How am I performing against my competition?” and “What does my performance look like in comparison to the category?”

b. Diagnose issues quickly

Looking at the trends of the data points within the dashboard, managers can drill down further to identify areas of concern, or potential areas of improvement, and zone in on that to find out more.

c. Save time

As all important KPIs are at one place, time to decisions is accelerated

2. RCA Across Datasets

Root-cause analysis is nothing but identifying where exactly a particular problem lies. Currently, conducting this analysis on multiple datasets can be time-consuming and possibly frustrating, as it requires constantly switching between them.

RCA across datasets eliminates the need to switch between multiple datasets where Explorazor takes care of transitioning between the datasets, as required, behind the scenes without you having to bother about it.

If you want to understand root cause analysis in Explorazor in detail, we recommend you read the drill-down via point-and-click article on our blog.

Other Updates: Explorazor March 2023

a. Table Slicer

You might have certain pre-set criteria based on which you would prefer your data to be displayed. Table Slicer allows you to do exactly that – insert your criteria and choose which sections of the data you want to view specifically.

b. Date Range Filter

Explore the events between any two time periods of your choice by applying the date range filter. This is another convenient feature that lets you be more precise in your searches

c. Group Data Sharing

Now you can share data with multiple people in your group, at the same time. Group Data Sharing helps managers collaborate better

d. Dynamic Period Filters

Dynamic Period Filters such as ‘Last 2 months’, ‘This Year’, etc. are auto-update filters where the values keep updating as the data updates

For example: If we pin a response created by using dynamic filter “this month” in the query, the values will be updated to the latest month every time the data refreshes.

e. Improvements to Group Filter

The option to manage all your group filters is now available on the left panel of your Explorazor screen.

Dynamic KPIs, Saving Filters as Groups, Updates to Root Cause Analysis and More – Explorazor Product Updates January 2023

We’re rapidly developing Explorazor to help Brand Managers conduct fast and efficient data exploration. Having already launched seamless root cause analysis, conditional formatting, dual and triple-axis charts in November’s release, we have made some other improvements this time around.

If you are yet to be acquainted with Explorazor, it is a CPG and pharma-specific data exploration tool laying the groundwork for skilled professionals to focus on solving real market problems instead of grappling with unstandardized data and slow laptops all the time.

The Explorazor proposal for Brand Managers is to work on a harmonized dataset, accessible to all, facilitating instant data pivot extraction (via simple querying) and root cause analysis (via simple clicks) – saving time and effort while accelerating hypothesis testing rates. We do model and engineer your data for you as well.

Let’s look at January’s updates:

  1. Dynamic KPI creation

Users can get custom KPIs created as per their requirement, which are dynamically calculated for every query

Let’s take an example of ‘Rate of Sales’ as a dynamically created KPI:

Simply insert ‘Rate of Sales’ as a keyword in your query as shown below:

The above image is an example of a dynamically created keyword. Users can get custom KPIs such as Rate of Sales, Market Share, etc. created as per their requirements.

It’s dynamic, so the query will be relevant all the time. As per your query, your numbers of the KPI will be calculated and updated in real-time. For example, you can get KPIs like ‘market share’ which can be calculated dynamically for brands, geography, or distribution, using the keyword, you can use the resulting table to create all kinds of visuals for presentation purposes, and/or perform root cause analysis on it.

  1. Filter Grouping

The rationale is simple – managers use a particular set of filters frequently. Typing in these set of filters repeatedly for every query is undesirable.

Filter Grouping, as you’re smart enough to figure out by now, allows you to save a group of filters under a common header, and use it to apply the group of filters with ease in the future. Simply recall the header the next time you want to use that set of filters.

  1. Updates to Root Cause Analysis

Explore the root cause analysis/drill-down in detail in the linked blog.

We have introduced more interactive elements to root cause analysis this time. To show important metrics for a data field, directly click on that field to display all its corresponding values in the left panel.

This will be better understood with an example:

For any field you click, the numbers on the left panel change dynamically to reflect metrics for our area of interest.

An additional convenience here is the ability to sort the information on an ascending or descending basis.

Some Other Updates

  1. Recently used keywords will now be prompted as suggestions as you type for quick access. A Google-like feature, and when it comes to a search interface, there’s no reason not to have it Google-like
  2. Min & Max query support is live
  3. There’s an option to edit live data connection options
  4. Updates to conditional formatting

That’s it for this time, and we’ll be back with more updates next month. Our goal remains the same: to help Brand Managers in CPG and Pharma focus only and only on data exploration, and create real impacts through it, with the ultimate objective of improving brand and company revenue.

Explorazor Product Updates – Seamless Root Cause Analysis, Conditional Formatting, and More

Hello there, welcome. We’re excited to share the latest updates made on our data exploration and analysis tool, Explorazor, covering root cause analysis, conditional formatting, and dual axis charts. We’ll also highlight the benefits that Brand & Sales can derive from these updates.

If you have headed directly to this blog without browsing the website, here’s a quick introduction to Explorazor: curated especially for Brand and Sales Teams at Pharma and Consumer Goods companies, Explorazor allows users to explore their data faster, better, and easier than on Excel by combining all datasets into a single consolidated dataset that can be queried via a simple search interface.

Let’s dive into the updates:

  1. Root Cause Analysis

As the name suggests, root cause analysis is the process of arriving at the heart, or the root cause, of any event, usually an event of concern.

Root cause analysis (RCA) helps managers determine why the problem occurred in the first place. For example, in Explorazor, users can identify the reasons behind market share degrowth and find out which state or city was responsible for it.

How it works is that the user identifies a table value, clicks on it, and is able to drill down into any hierarchy or drill across KPIs from multiple datasets in the same view. Here’s what it looks like:

Explaining ‘drill across’ further, users can navigate through multiple datasets at the same time.

This is a highly interactive method for users to rapidly diagnose issues or pain points, allowing them visibility into multiple data cuts simultaneously. We recommend skimming through the blog ‘Conduct Drill-Down on an Integrated Dataset via Point-and-Click’ to see an example of how RCA is conducted on Explorazor via double-clicking. The example is complete with screenshots from Explorazor.

We’re also working on further updates within root cause analysis – the freedom to sort values automatically will soon be available.

  1. Conditional Formatting

Users can provide business rules on their data, above or below which they want the data to be highlighted differently. This allows them to quickly identify outliers or get a clear view of when they hit a target.

Another significant benefit of conditional formatting on Explorazor is the option to pin a conditionally formatted query directly to the dashboard. The conducted query is saved to the dashboard for future use and keeps auto-updating, so there’s a lot of smoothness added to the querying processes of users, who would have previously had to re-run the same formatting procedure multiple times.

There are a lot of design-based options for conditional formatting, like color-coding areas of improvement in red and success zones as green.

  1. Dual, and Triple Axis Charts

One may have to look at the trends of multiple different KPIs at the same time. However, not all KPIs will have similar values – one could be in the millions while another could be in the 100s. Correlating such figures is a challenge.

What Dual Axis Charts do is allow users to see the trends in all these different KPIs together, so that they can correlate how changes in different KPIs affect others.

Actual product screenshot - Explorazor - Triple Axis Charts

Users also have total control over each axis w.r.t the metric shown. For example, Axis 1 can display the trend of Market Share while Axis 2 displays Internal Sales.

With the ability to look at the trends of multiple KPIs of different scales at the same time, the relationship between two or more measures can be demonstrated and correlations, wherever the nature of the values allow, can be viewed.

Triple Axis Charts? Works the same way as Dual.

Get More Out of Your Datasets, and Your Skill Set!

Explorazor is not here to radically change the way Brand & Sales teams interact with data. We simply propose streamlining scattered datasets under a single roof, accessible to all.

Explorazor focuses on letting each department and individual use their skill sets in solving real market problems and finding ways to promote their brand and grow their revenue, instead of getting embroiled in the daily tangles of multiple tabs, inaccessibility to needed datasets, and undue dependence on others for ad-hoc analysis. Insights Teams benefit greatly too – check out the reasons why an Insights Team should consider Explorazor for their managers
